" Fist of Legend ", Jet Li's version of Fist of Fury.
" Fist of Legend " is one of my favorite movies of Jet Li's earlier films, besides "Tai Chi Master". This movie shadows in many ways
Bruce Lee
's "The Chinese Connection" basically the same story just a few changes here and there.
In this movie Chen Zhen's(Jet Li) love interest is a Japanese student he went to school with back in Japan.
Unlike
" The Chinese Connection "
where Bruce Lee's character is looked upon as a Leader against Japanese rule in China and a fighter of equality for the Chinese nation.
Jet Li's character is misunderstood to be a traitor of his people because of his willingness to go outside his cultural beliefs.
You can see his growth as an actor as well as his fighting ability. I enjoy this films storyline, the way Chen Zhen has to over come so many obstacles through out.
He shatters everyone's belief systems whether it was with the fight scene against his best friend who is now the leader of the Martial Arts Academy, or to prove that Chinese are not sick men of Asia.
All an all this movie incorporates a great blend of storyline and fighting.
The fight scenes against Chen's best friend, girlfriend's uncle and the ending fight scene against the Japanese General are all epic.
This would be considered my favorite
Jet Li
film that's made in Hong Kong.
I'm always interested in the opinions of other Kung Fu Movie fans. Did you enjoy this movie? Did it bug the heck out of you? I want to know what you thought about it.
