The Charlies Angels Movie is a fun Kung Fu Tribute, Action, Chick Flick with a whole lot of Sex Appeal

The Charlies Angels Movie is more of a spy movie than a Kung Fu flick but then what Hollywood Kung Fu movie isn't. With the influence of " The Matrix ", the " Charlies Angels " movie is instrumental in keeping America's newly renewed Kung Fu love affair alive while also sexing it up with 3 gorgeous women.

It opens with a plane sequence when LL cool J tosses a perp and himself out of the plane then hooks up with Lucy Liu mid air and Cameron Diaz catches them with her speedboat. Upon landing, it turns out he's really Drew Barrymore. awesome sky diving sequence. Believable? No. Brilliant. Yes.

It lets you know immediately that we are going to have to suspend a whole lot of disbelief for this roller coaster ride of a movie.

Truly the " Charlies Angels " movie a classic Hollywood movie that feels like one long music video. But who cares! It's 3 hot chicks, taking names and kicking ass. With a lot of Kicking Kung Fu instead of so much hand work.

And like a typical American movie, they don't particularly pay attention to details like say.... culture authenticity.

When it comes to other cultures this movie horribly mixes both Japanese and Chinese throughout this movie. Small example of this in the Charlies Angels movie is like when Luke Wilson opens with Kornichiwah, and Cameron responds with Ni Hao and some other Chinese statement.

But again, that is to be expected and sadly, few of the American audience even noticed.

Let's get right to business. The first Kung Fu tribute scene takes place post party in back alley with Creepy Thin Man played by Crispin Glover.

Here we see great fun wire work and 3 Hollywood actresses show off their years worth of Kung Fu training. Totally Fun and unexpected at the time! When you think about it, its actually quite a lot of action covering their extrememly short training period. The next action sequence happens at the race track. Sexy as all get out. No fighting just hot car chase action.

Of course there is a story line involved in all of this with Bill Murray playing Bosley and Sam Rockwell as the bad guy, but that's not why we watch the movie is it. No, so let's stick to the good bits.

The next awesome Charlies Angels movie sequence worth mentioning is the kinda uber montage that starts with the girls in yodeling outfits, belly dancing outfits eccetera as they collect the DNA stuff they need.

Then "The Barracuda" office sequence as they break into the tech place.... so much fun.

Lucy Liu as dominatrix, need I say more?

Drew and Cameron are dresssed as men, until Cameron Diaz strips down to a white body suit doing gymnastics to hack the mainframe. Sweet.

Of course, there follows a lot of girly storyline for the ladies watching. It wouldn't be a Charlies Angels movie without a little love, romance, and sex...

But things get exciting again when big assasination attempts are made on each of the girls in different locations.

Cameron does some serious Kung Fu in the bathroom lobby. Lucy Liu gets shot up in trailer. And Drew gets kidnapped and shot through an enormous window over a Cliff. The slow motion replay of that was pretty sweet for the year 2000.

Finally comes the big showdown at the castle in Carmel. This is where we get a lot more Kung Fu.

Cameron Diaz fights thugs outside Bill Murray's cell then takes on Vivian the villainess( a little chick on chick action).

Lucy Liu showdowns with Creepy Thin Guy who uses a sword in the belltower sequence.

And Drew Barrymore actually fights with thugs from a chair... Kung Fu chair action. Nicely done.

The " Charlies Angels " Movie wraps up the action with a huge helicopter sequence to bring the bad guy down. Lots of action, lots of music, as well as being sexy fun.

I would consider the Charlies Angels movie a great Hollywood film for sure. Another good transition movie to get a girlfriend or wife excited about Kung Fu before introducing the really great Classic Kung Fu Movies .
