Jet Li Fearless , displaying his best Kung Fu ever.
Jet Li Fearless is a powerful period piece that, I have to say, is one of my favorite Jet Li movies.
Jet Li
plays the Great Kung Fu hero Huo Yuanjia . This movie is about a man’s quest to become the best Kung Fu fighter in his province only to have tragedy, created by his own actions, change the fate of his life. His life’s purpose is redefined.
I liked everything about this movie. To me, it’s the best Wushu movie made ever. The reason I love this film is the truth behind it. Somehow Jet Li’s performance seemed effortless compared to his other films. Li has said that this would be his last Wushu film. This would be considered his ultimate piece of work.
The cinematography was breathtaking for this film, the fight scenes and the scenes when he has his transformation are in a class by themselves.
This story is timeless, the lessons learned from this movie are lessons that can definitely be transcendent to today’s circumstances.
There’s a lot of emotion in this film, scenes that make you laugh and cry, but what makes this movie special is that it is thought provoking. It’s rare that you have a Martial arts film that gives you so much.
One of my favorite scenes in this movie is a scene between Huo Yuanjia and his best friend . Li’s character is about to have a fight with a master that is almost as equal to himself.
The friendship between Huo Yuanjia and his best friend is put on the line because Huo Yuanjia wants to fight in his friend’s restaurant on the birthday of the man he wants to challenge.
The emotional content is intense and once Li’s character demands everyone to leave the restaurant you know things are going to get even more intense.
"Fearless" is a classic Jet Li movie, I would say one of his best films ever made to date. It’s sad that we possibly won’t see Jet Li in another Wushu film again, but who knows? Li might want to out-do himself one day.
I'm always interested in the opinions of other Kung Fu Movie fans. Did you enjoy this movie? Did it bug the heck out of you? I want to know what you thought about it.
