Kung Fu Hustle's A Hit on the funnier side of Kung Fu.

" Kung Fu Hustle ", Stephen Chow's 2004 movie made a big hit in the U.S. as well as around the world. What made this movie such a big hit was it's combination of cartoon comedy and martial arts that puts this movie in a class all its own.

Due to Erin F.'s article on " Kung Fu Hustle " I decided that this movie does deserve its own KFMM page.

Thank You Again Erin, hope to hear from you soon.

After achieving commercial success with his first movie " Shaolin Soccer ", it only seems fitting for Stephen to follow up with another comedy. This time taking it in a more loonier cartoon direction.

The story is about a young man (Sing) who's down on his luck with no direction. He and his sidekick (Bone) are on a mission to get respect in the , run by gangs, by doing petty crimes. Little do they all know that legendary Kung Fu Masters are only a step away. When these masters are accidently uncovered due to Sing and Bone's antics the Axe Gang steps in to eradicate all those who stand in their way.

This movie is choc 'o bloc filled with real Kung Fu Stars like Yuen Wah who plays the landlord, Yuen Qui who is the hilarious Landlady, Bruce Leung who plays The Beast and many more that you will appreciate. All are from classic Kung Fu movies from the day and Kung Fu Hustle feels very much like a tribute to these great performers giving them a chance to really showcase their Kung Fu and amazing comic timing.

Also, I have to give Sammo Hung his props for the choreography that he did. Story is that he created 80% of it then there was a fall out (although the official story is Sammo got sick) and Woo Ping stepped in to finish the film. Sammo is credited for 'additional choreography' but I agree with Erin that his comic signature is all over this piece.

In the end Sing becomes the Hero he always wanted to be by saving the day in true Kung Fu style.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, you must check it out. It's a modern Kung Fu Classic that is sure to be around for a long, long time.
