Mad Monkey Kung Fu, No Monkeying around with this Shaw Brothers Classic.

Mad Monkey dvd "Mad Monkey Kung Fu" is another one of those Shaw Brothers Classics that never gets old.

I like Lau Kar Leung in this film, you get to see his full range of acting in this film. Along with Hsiao Hou (Little Monkey) the two create a good chemistry for this film.

The story is about two Pei Kin Opera Actors Lau Kar Leung and his sister played by Kara Hui who are invited to dinner by Lo Lieh who plays a gangster/brothel owner.

Lo Lieh's character tricks Kar Leung into demonstrating his Kung Fu by getting him drunk. Once drunk Kar Leung gets beaten and loses his sister to Lo Lieh because of his actions.

Kar Leung is crippled after the affair and is forced to make a living as a street entertaining with his pet monkey.

Leung's monkey is killed by thugs trying to collect money from him and so he decides to make Hsiao Hou (Little Monkey) his student who eventually gets revenge for Leung.

This is a good movie that features Monkey style Kung Fu. Lo Lieh is great as usual.

The fight scenes are terrific and the acting is pretty good also.

This is the first movie I saw with Lau Kar Leung in and I became a big fan of his right after.

"Mad Monkey Kung Fu" is a movie every Kung Fu fan should have in there collection.
