Need Help On Movie ??????

The movie starts of with a thief hiding in a cart form the authorities. The cart enters into a Buddhist monastery where a monk accepts that he stays if he follows their teaching. Scenes include:

To eat , he would have to cross a path of logs that are floating in water. Stepping on the logs too long makes him fall in. figuring out to use speed, he gets across. Later the teacher removes the logs and demonstrates a bowl skipping across the water.

Training, he rings a bell with a weight at the end of a length of bamboo. As time progresses the bamboo length greatly increases.

He must get water from a well with two buckets. Hold the buckets out right because he has knives attached to his arms. If his arms lower the blades stab him in his body.
At one time he asks how he may simply leave. The teacher says all he has to do is defeat one of the grand masters… he tries to enter a place where there is a great grand master who is old and decrepit. He thinks it will be easy. The master chants a low bellow and the result is a shaking of the whole place.
As time progresses he learns a great deal and fights the grand masters. He wins all of them except one(with short swords) . he develops nun chucks with three sections to catch the blades and wins.

The movie ends with leaving the monastery mastering kung fu. He travels the road and now sees a person that has master skill of the knives……
