" Ong Bak " starring Tony Jaa puts Muay Thai on the map.

" Ong Bak " made in 2003 was directed by Prachya Pinkaew, stunt choreography by Panna Rittikrai and starred Tony Jaa. This is the movie that put Tony Jaa and Muay Thai on the map.

This movie is about a young Muay Thai student who volunteers to catch a thief whose stolen a Buddha's Head.

The movie is full of action, stunts and great unique fight scenes. Tony definitely meets the films expectations with his intense fighting ability.

Ting, Tony Jaa's character, is chosen to retrieve back the Buddha's head. He has to leave his village in order to catch the thief who lives in the city of Bangkok.

This journey leads Ting into a whole new world of crime, deceit, drugs and lots of fighting.

Ting runs into his cousin George who no longer lives in the village and has chosen to live a life as a con artist.

George, who is too busy trying to make his next con job, refuses to help Ting feeling that it's importance was not worthy of his time. But that soon changes once Ting manages to rescue George from some intense problems that he's gotten himself into only to find out Ting is a great fighter.

Once Ting has George's support the journey soon unravels with more fighting, stunts and excitement. Ting eventually gets the Buddhas head back to it's rightful place and is made a hero and is anointed as a Monk in his home village.

" Ong Bak " is a movie that has it's on identity among other martial arts films setting Tony Jaa apart from all the rest. Make sure you get this one of a kind gem added to your collection.
