Its about a kung fu master who is famous for his heroism but regularly smokes opium as a form of recreation. eventually he succumbs to its terrible side effects when his town and his pupils need him the most. it is tang chias last film for shaw brothers and i consider it to be one of ti lungs best films because of his powerful charismatic performance. chen kwan tai is wicked as the opium drug lord who causes ti lung to realize he has to kick his dangerous habit in order to redeem himself.also stars philip ko fei and others who you may recognize from other great kung fu films. |
