purpose of training methods

the rings and the water in that you tube video...the rings where meant to have no sound and the water was meant to have no movement..as i said in another post kung fu is beautiful to watch but most of it was a way to train the mind to to not offend the nature it came from..im not a good speller..most of it was a philosophy not a true form of engagement..any given dojo..any given fight night..as i also said before i've seen it fail so many times..if you're looking for enlightenment and a sound mind and body then go for it..if you're looking for a true combat martial art look towards chin na, aikido, krav magra, karate, ju jitsu..these are very, very effective combat martial arts that most often a student can defeat masters of kung fu. however one of my favorite moves that comes on strong and often unexpected is the ankle hook that comes directly from kung fu..guide your right ankle/foot to the left side of your oppenents neck facing you hook his/her neck with the small semi circle that forms between your heel and tendon use the strength of your WHOLE leg to drag your oppenents face/nose to the mat the follow through with full force punches and or kicks to the ribs...done.
