Rush Hour 2 the best of the Rush Hour movies Starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker
" Rush Hour 2 "starring
Jackie Chan
, Chris Tucker, and Zhang Ziyi is by far my favorite Rush Hour movie. Not just because Zhang Ziyi plays a bad-ass badgirl but because the first half of the movie takes place in Hong Kong. I can't say it enough. Hollywood just doesn't have enough martial artists trained in Kung Fu to really pull off a great martial arts film. The real film industry Kung Fu martial artists are in Hong Kong and Beijing. So I was thrilled when this movie started off in Hong Kong. It was hilarious to watch Chris Tucker navigate, balls out, in a culture that already doesn't understand Westerners aka Gweilo, so they just sort of go with it. LOL! Now as much as I enjoyed this movie, and as much as they used great Kung Fu artists, I still do not consider this a Kung Fu movie. It is straight up Hollywood action flick. What's the difference you might ask? Well, the fights scenes in all of the Rush Hour movies are way to short and the editing is quick and choppy. In a real quality Kung Fu movie you get to see amazing fighting as a whole, generally. You get to see Kung Fu moves for minutes rather than a quick second or two.
I felt for all the fight scenes in this movie that I wanted more Kung Fu. But for the fans of the new Hollywood Jackie Chan he delivers. Tons of amazing stunts and fighting in ridiculous places. Like the first big fight sequence in Hong Kong that takes place on a scaffold. That was tight. Also great and hilarious is the Massage parlor fight. The quality of both of these fights are MUCH better than
the first Rush hour movie
just because they were fighting real Kung Fu artists. The last fight in the Hong Kong sequence of Rush Hour 2 takes place on a yacht with Chris Tucker and Zhang Ziyi, who plays HU LI. It was much too short but still fun. Zhang Ziyi gives Chris a real funny kick to the head. It was cool. Then, unfortunately we head back to Los Angeles with American stuntmen but the action part of the movie picks up even though the Kung Fu parts almost disappear. Instead we get more high action stunts Jackie Chan style. There is one really short but sweet Kung Fu fight between Jackie Chan and Don Cheadle at a Chinese Soul Food restaurant in Crenshaw. I know, that's just funny in itself. The fight was cool. Don really looked good like he knew Kung Fu and I wish the fight lasted longer. For fans of the HBO series "Entourage", there's a great cameo by the guy who plays Ari Gold, Jeremy Piven. While Jackie and Chris are in Las Vegas they go to buy new suits and Jeremy plays a really funny gay Versace salesman. This cameo and Don Cheadle's really makes this movie gold for me. I laughed my butt off.
We get more fighting with Jackie in the Las Vegas money room, which is kinda more of his stunts while he tries to escape. We get a hot girl on girl fight sequence between Zhang Ziyi and Roselyn Sanchez for a minute. That was cool. And the movie grand finale's really with a swordfight between Zhang Ziyi and Chris Tucker. and that was pretty cool too. All in all Rush Hour 2 is incredibly entertaining. It's laugh out loud funny and the bad guys and girls are great. It's a must see for Hollywood action movie lovers and Jackie Chan fans for sure. Rush Hour 2 is Jackie's best Hollywood movie second only to

and just to note, don't expect a Rush Hour 3 page here cause it really isn't worth my time, in my opinion. You can add it if you liked it, and if you did like it, I would truly be interested in hearing your perspective on it. Because I could barely make it through. They peaked at Rush Hour 2.
