Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a Modern Martial Arts Media Movie

I loved Scott Pilgrim vs the World! What I mean by modern martial arts media movie is that this flick uses all of the pop culture staples of today.First it uses a ton of Martial Arts whether or not they are performed authentically doesn't matter because the martial arts style of the movie tributes all Kung Fu revenge flicks when the protagonist has to face a number of evil fighters to free himself and his loved ones from their Karma. Secondly it takes a more modern approach at the same time using influences of all of our favorite video games from Tekken and Mortal Kombat to Super Mario Brothers. This brilliant animated edge to the movie really hits home for the Comic book/video game fan. And lastly this movie uses Rock n Roll as the medium of emotional expression and throughline for the story. A real modern martial arts media kind of movie, get it?
This terrific and fun movie is based off of a brilliant set of Graphic Novels created by Bryan Lee O'Malley. It is the story of a young guy age 23, Scott Pilgrim, who lives in Toronto Canada and plays bass guitar. He falls in love with a girl, Ramona Flowers. But in order to be with her he must defeat her 7 evil exes. Apparently O'Malley got the idea for the comic series when he heard the band Plumtree's 1998 single "Scott Pilgrim". Which also explains the rock influence a little too. I can't say enough about this movie. It's a real fun firecracker of a film. Great for all ages! Watching it feels like playing a martial arts video game. Micheal Cera plays Scott Pilgrim in the movie and boy, is he ever funny. I never thought I'd see the day where he was kicking ass in a movie. But he did pretty good. LOL! Hopefully since there are 6 Graphic novels in the series, we will get to see a sequel to this movie. But based on the Comics there won't be as much Martial arts in it, some maybe but not much. But we'll see. If you haven't seen this movie check your
