The Evil Cult aka Kung Fu Master

A young Jet Li stars in this cult classic kung fu film. A young man who is orphaned by his parents committing suicide in order to protect a family friend's secret which causes conflict between multiple sects who are fighting to discover the secret. Jet Li is a victim to the rivalry when in his youth he is hit with the deadly Jinx palm and can not learn martial arts because of his injury. He grows up ostracized by his peers because he can not fight. His cousin insults his dead parents one night which leads to the cousin trying to kill him forcing him to flee into the mountains. Jet Li and a mysterious young woman who he later falls in love with come across an insane kung fu master who he tricks into teaching him the only form of kung fu that can rid him of the curse of the Jinx Palm. On Jet Li's journey he also learns secret kung fu styles which are written on the stone walls of a crypt which have been known to take the lives of all who enter but Jet Li survives. He emerges from the crypt as the Kung Fu master and exacts revenge of the ones who caused his parents to commit suicide. |
