" The Last Airbender " Is worth seeing regardless of what others say.

Alright, " The Last Airbender " directed by M Night Shyamalan, is a great movie. I have a daughter that is 12 years old and will be visiting me this month and I can't wait to take her to see this film.

Now, I know I might get some flack when this page is posted from some fans of the series but I don't want to hear it because I am a major fan of the animated series as well and I'm 42 yrs old.

I hear some people saying that it's not like the animated series , Ang is pronounced Ong and a whole slew of small reasons why they didn't like the movie. This almost made me wait for until it came out on cable but I had a reliable friend suggest I go see it because he liked it.

When the dust cleared I was very pleased with what I saw. First off remember this is a movie based off a series made for kids performed by kids. I feel the same way about Karate Kid 2010.

The performance in both movies where great considering these kids don't perform in martial arts movies all the time.

" The Last Airbender " was as close as you can get with the technology we have, to convincingly pass the test of the cartoon. Remember this is the first 'Book', now that they have this movie completed, the second should be even better.

The only problem I had with this movie is I felt that the story was a bit choppy in some areas. But you can't fit a whole series in two hours. So I had to check myself on that one.

I'll admit before seeing this film I was a little adamant about Ang's heritage. After seeing the film I actually liked the way each tribe was represented by other cultures. What's more important to me is representing a good story the best way you can and entertaining the audience your aiming at, the children.

" The Last Airbender " is a 2010 made movie, imagine if this movie was made in the 80's better yet the 90's. Now that would have been cheesy.

This movie has good actors, great cinematography and the fighting is well demonstrated especially for it to be done by children. But what impressed me the most was the special effects with each tribes bending elements. They really captured the feel of what could be done coming from a animated series.

Randall Duk Kim has a great cameo in this movie as the old man in the temple. Randall also appears in other

Hollywood martial arts movies like when he played The Keymaker in The Matrix Trilogy and when he played Oogway in " Kung Fu Panda ".

All and all " The Last Airbender " is a good movie to see if you are a fan of the series and not caught up with wanting to see a live action film copied exactly like a animated series.
